What the app stores on your device

The app keeps a small amount of information locally so it can work the way you left it:

• Your favorite stations, in the order you arranged them
• The last station you selected and the list it came from, so playback can be restored
• The country and language categories you browsed recently
• Cached copies of the station catalog and of station logos, so the app opens quickly and uses less data

This information stays in the app's own storage on your device. It is not uploaded, not backed up to any server we control, and not shared with anyone. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What the app connects to

The app has no server of its own. To do anything useful it contacts three kinds of third party, and you should know what each one can see:

• The Radio Browser directory (radio-browser.info), a community-run public catalog of internet radio stations. The app requests lists of countries, languages and stations from it. As with any internet request, their servers can see your device's IP address. No account, name or identifier of yours is sent.
• Station broadcasters. When you play a station, your device connects directly to that broadcaster's streaming server. That server sees your IP address and can keep its own logs. We have no control over, and no visibility into, what any individual broadcaster does. Their practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
• Station logo hosts. Station artwork is downloaded from web addresses the catalog publishes, which are servers run by the stations themselves or by third parties. Those servers likewise see your IP address when an image is fetched.

Play reports

Radio Browser ranks stations by how often they are played, and asks every app that uses the catalog to report each play. When you start a station, the app sends that station's identifier to Radio Browser so the community's popularity ranking stays accurate. The report contains the station identifier only. It carries no identifier for you or your device, and it is not linked to anything else you do in the app.

What the app does not do

• No account, login or profile of any kind
• No analytics, crash reporting or usage measurement
• No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites
• No access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera
• No sale or sharing of personal information, because none is collected

CarPlay

When your iPhone is connected to a CarPlay system, the app shows a simplified interface on the car's screen. It uses the same local data described above and sends nothing additional to the car or to us.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It provides access to a public directory of independent radio stations whose content is created by third parties and is not moderated or rated by us.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it collects or connects to, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
